Nutrition Counseling

Our trained staff can help you choose the right diet for your pet’s life stage to keep him or her healthy. We are able to calculate the appropriate amount of food for each one of your pets. We offer prescription diets to address the needs of pets with ongoing health issues. Precise nutrition has a great impact on your pet’s health.

Microchip

The microchip contains a personal, one-of-a-kind identification number, which is injected under the skin of your pet just like a vaccination. This provides a permanent, positive identification which cannot be lost, altered, or intentionally removed – a safe, simple, inexpensive way to protect your pet against loss or theft. Microchips have helped reunite numerous pets with their families. By microchipping and registering your pet in your name, it will greatly increase the chances of a safe recovery in unfortunate situations.

Behavior Counseling

We are available for consultation in behavioral management. Consultations involve a detailed behavioral history, examination, temperament evaluation, diagnostic testing if deemed appropriate to rule out potential underlying medical problems, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan. The treatment plan may include behavioral and environmental modification, training recommendations, and anxiety relieving medications. In some cases, referral to a board certified veterinary behaviorist may be needed.

Preventative Care & Vaccinations

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. Annual or semi-annual comprehensive preventative examinations are an effective way to protect younger animals from common, preventable illnesses and diseases, as well as helping older pets live longer, healthier lives. The earlier potential issues are detected, the more favorable the outcome. We understand that each pet has his or her own individual needs that are based on both lifestyle and stage of life. After discussing your pet’s needs, we will customize a preventative health care plan, including a comprehensive physical examination; nutritional recommendations; flea, tick, heartworm, and intestinal parasite control; intestinal parasite screening; vaccination schedule; and specialized blood tests based on life stage, including annual heartworm testing and tick-borne disease screening for canines.

Dental Care

Proper dental care is one of the foundations of maintaining your pet’s health and comfort. Periodontal disease is a leading health care problem. Dental disease puts a stress on your pet’s immune system and can lead to serious liver, kidney, respiratory, and heart disease. We provide an extensive dental care program including ultrasonic cleaning, periodontal therapy, and care for damaged teeth. Our state of the art digital dental x-ray system allows us to diagnose and treat otherwise hidden dental disease. Studies have shown that proper periodontal care can prolong a pet’s life by 2 to 3 years.
