We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. Annual or semi-annual comprehensive preventative examinations are an effective way to protect younger animals from common, preventable illnesses and diseases, as well as helping older pets live longer, healthier lives. These examinations make it possible for our veterinarians to discover possible problems before signs appear and before they become more serious, expensive to treat diseases. The earlier potential issues are detected, the more favorable the outcome. We understand that each pet has his or her own individual needs that are based on both lifestyle and stage of life. After discussing your pet’s needs, we will customize a preventative health care plan, including a comprehensive physical examination; nutritional recommendations; flea, tick, heartworm, and intestinal parasite control; intestinal parasite screening; vaccination schedule; and specialized blood tests based on life stage, including annual heartworm testing and tick-borne disease screening for canines.
