Dr. Michael P. ThomasDr. Michael P. Thomas graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. His first place of employment was Tazewood Veterinary Clinic, now Teegarden Veterinary Clinic.

In 1979, Dr. Thomas left the clinic to join Dr. David Lott in partnership at Tremont Veterinary Clinic. He returned to Teegarden Veterinary Clinic in 1989, when he and Dr. Lott purchased the business from Dr. H.R. Teegarden. Dr. Thomas and Dr. Lott dissolved their partnership in 2004, leaving Dr. Thomas as sole owner of Teegarden Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Thomas is a member of numerous veterinary professional organizations and civic organizations in his local community. He enjoys family activities, spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, caring for roses, Bible study, and traveling.

Dr. Jason and Dr. Kaci KennellDr. Jason Kennell grew up in nearby Roanoke where he spent his time helping out on his family’s grain farm. It was always his dream to become a veterinarian which continued through undergrad and, eventually, the University of Illinois for his veterinary degree. He has a particular interest in dermatology, ophthalmology, and surgery and looks forward to managing all kinds of medical cases. He spends his spare time reading, gardening, and working on handyman projects.

Dr. Kaci Kennell is from a dairy farm near rural Effingham. Her experience taking care of animals on the farm led her into the veterinary profession. She attended Lake Land College and Eastern Illinois University for her undergraduate training before obtaining her doctorate at the University of Illinois. She truly loves being able to use veterinary medicine to serve people through the care of their pets and has had great opportunities to put that into practice through veterinary mission work. In her spare time, she likes to sing, decorate, and experiment with various craft projects including dress making.

Together, they enjoy spending time with family and friends and are very active in their church. As veterinarians, it is their aim to share the love of Christ by caring for His creation and building longstanding relationships with their clients. They currently live in rural Benson with their dog, Luthor, and cat, Azalea.
